Dear Cast,
I pity anyone who wasn't at last Saturday's performance of Les Miserables.  Having seen the show in the West End some years ago we decided to bring our teenage boys to experience the show in Retford.  It's the first show we've seen by the "MOB" so didn't know what to expect, and certainly wasn't expecting what we got, superb vocal and acting performances, totally believable characters, genuine emotion and fantastic comic timing.  A very professional performance all round.  We all left the theatre on a high, you all thoroughly deserved your standing ovation and 4 curtain calls.  The chorus were excellent and the leading roles brilliant.  The inn keeper and his wife were so funny, a real comic double act, the leading ladies showed such maturity and emotion in their acting and the leading men, well, just fantastic.  I can't help but single out Jean Valjean, absolutely outstanding, we hope to see him in the West End in the future.
Thank you all for a top-class evening's entertainment, we eagerly await your next production.  Well done
Samantha, Mike, Matthew and Christopher Deakin.

My congratulations to all involved in the production of Les Miserables.
I work in Retford and bumped into 2 MOB members on my way home on Friday night , Peter Cox and Sasha Launders – they encouraged me to come along to see the production so I brought my partner and step daughters along to see the Saturday night performance.
AND – WOW – I was so impressed and cannot praise it enough – it was so professional. It was clear that an awful lot of hard work and dedication has gone into it.
It was a great night out. Thank you.

I have just been to watch the MOB's performance of Les Miserables (thursday night) and am absolutely blown away! As a past member (1998- 2004) I was proud and pleased to see the young people do so well. I have such fond memories of my time in the MOB; besides the obvious talent it was wonderful to see how much the cast were enjoying themselves. That said, their professionalism and star quality would rival any west end show! There were too many outstanding solo and group pieces to mention by name. Every part, no matter how large or small, was performed with great energy and obvious dedication. The standing ovation by the entire audience was thoroughly deserved and my hands are still buzzing! This was quite simply the best amateur performance I have ever seen; as well as the fantastic performances, the set and costumes were brilliant. At times I closed my eyes and thought I was in London, and then remembered I had only paid £7. You should put your prices up next year! Congratulations to the committee and especially all of the young people.
Best wishes

An epic saga of social injustice, Les Misérables follows the life of Jean Valjean, imprisoned for nineteen years for stealing a loaf of bread. After his release, Valjean is hounded relentlessly by the fanatic police inspector Javert for breaking his parole. In the end, Javert's obsession leads the two men to a confrontation in the sewers of Paris, a confrontation from which only one of them will walk away.

In July 2007 The MOB went on a trip to see Les Misérables at the Queen's Theatre.
The MOB had a backstage tour and tried on costumes and props, it was a highly enjoyable experience and motivated both the Mobsters and the Adults to reproduce the atmosphere and sensational acting of the professionalism of the show, in Retford.
The cast of Les Misérables sent a message of good luck to The MOB
