What is the MOB?

The Mini Operatic Bunch - the junior section of the Retford Amateur Operatic Society

How old is a MOBster?

Between 8 and 18 years old.

When do the MOB usually rehearse?

Between 3pm and 5pm on Sunday.

How much does it cost to join the MOB?

There is no joining fee only a weekly subscription fee currently just £2 payable on entry to the rehearsal.

What should I bring to my first time at MOB?

Yourself, a parent/guardian, £2, and a positive attitude.

Will my parents/guardians have to do anything for the MOB?

Parents/Guardians are expected to help supervise the MOBsters on a rota basis.
Unless you have been given written permission by your parent/guardian, to leave alone at the end of rehearsals they must collect you and sign you out.

Is there any paperwork when I join the MOB?

When you join MOB your parent/guardian must complete a membership form and photographic consent form.

At The MOB

Who is in charge during MOB rehearsals?

During singing rehearsals the Musical Director conducts rehearsals.
During acting or dancing rehearsals the Producer conducts rehearsals.

Who do I pay at MOB rehearsals?

On entrance to the Rehearsal you must be signed in on the register by a Parent, Registered Chaperone, or MOB Rep, at which point you pay the weekly subscription fee.

Who looks after me at the MOB?

MOB rehearsals are supervised by Registered Chaperones and Parents.

Is there a break?

There is a short break during the rehearsal when the MOBsters can have a free drink of squash and socialise.

Am I allowed to leave the MOB Hall during a rehearsal?

For safety reasons MOBsters are not permitted to leave the MOB Hall at any point during the rehearsal, including during the break.

Who do I talk to if I have a problem at the MOB?

If you have a problem at MOB you can talk to any of the Adult Chaperones, Members of the Committee, or the elected MOB Reps.

What about bullying/discrimination?

The MOB does not tolerate any form of bullying or discrimination and takes any accusation of bullying or discrimination seriously.

Shows and Concerts

Who decides what shows the MOB performs?

The elected committee shortlists three shows which will then be voted on by a suitable ballot by the members at the AGM.

The MOB only perform one show per year at either the Retford Majestic or Little Theatre.

How do I obtain a Username and Password?

The MOBster username and password for the secure area of the website is on display in the MOB Hall and is also available for MOB Reps. (2008-2009: Gabriella and Oliver)

How do I login to the secure area of the website?

To login to the secure area of the website click the Login button on the left hand side of the page, enter either the MOBster or Admin usernames and passwords.

Where are all the photos?

For child protection reasons the majority of photographs are in the secure area of the website, you must be log in to the secure area of the website to view theses photographs.
