The Next Show

The MOB is open to everyone between the ages of 8 and 18. It is the junior section of the Retford Operatic Society, and was formed in 1991. There is no formal audition. The children are expected to work hard in rehearsals; but if they enjoy singing, that should be easy! The MOB perform a wide variety of music in concerts, shows and festivals. The MOB are a great group of young people who are very committed to keeping the standard of their performances high.
AND Membership  only costs £2 a week! The MOB is open to anyone, and we are always looking for new members, especially in the run up to a new show. The MOB is a member of The National Operatic and Dramatic AssociationR.

The last MOB show:

Disney’s Beauty and The Beast

Was a great success and thoroughly enjoyed by cast and audience alike.

The next MOB show has yet to be decided, but now is the time to join us ready to start rehearsals!

Retford Amateur Operatic Society - Panto 2010

Pantomime Auditions

Thursday 12th August 7-30pm and Sunday 15th August 10-30am. Mother Goose
is a very good Panto and should be fun to do. So even if you don't want a part
please come and be in the chorus. Call Liz Williams 01777 709038

Parents
Rehearsals

MOB is run and supported by parents, without whom the MOB could not exist. The committee is elected at the annual AGM and is open to any parent who wishes to take part. The committee decides which activities the Mobsters take part in, and organise concerts, shows, and fundraising for music, costumes and scenery.

We are always in need of more parents to share the load, if you would like to help MOB bigger and better, just speak to Carolyn White at any rehearsal.

The MOB rehearse every Sunday usually 4pm - 6pm with a short break around 5pm where fruit drinks are provided. On the run up to a show, there may be exteneded rehearsals to allow for sufficient rehearsal time. Rehearsals are supervised by County Council Registered Chaperones - parents of the Mobsters.

Mobsters are expected to spend some time at home learning, lines, lyrics and dance routines.
